Academic Writing

The Academic Writing Course is designed to introduce students to the rhetorical structures of the different genres used in academic writing. This course aims to give students the language and style of writing different genres by building on the mechanics of writing starting at the basic sentence level and ending with researched essays. Emphasis is given on logical progression of ideas, unity, and cohesion within the work. Each course will work to teach the entire writing process, from brainstorming of ideas through rough and final drafting.
